Hey All -
I have been back in Philly now for about a year and a half after being on the Left Coast for 4 years. I'm getting the itch again for more ink and was wondering if anyone had any artist recommendations in the area. I live in Center City and do not have a car so close by or by cab or train are all good options. I'm looking to get the red and black tribal posted in my profile pictures done on my right thigh.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Bill

Re: Artist recommendations?
Tue, March 30, 2004 - 12:31 PMI highly recommend Jackie Brown at No Ka Oi Tiki at 4th & South. She's never worked on me personally but she does great work.
I used to get my work done by Rebecca at No Ka Oi, but she's no longer there and having a tough time tracking her down (I've moved out of the area). -

Re: Artist recommendations?
Wed, March 31, 2004 - 8:19 AMUnfortunately I did talk to her at one point about a year ago. She seemed very stand-off-ish and I just got the wrong vibe from her. Personal tastes I guess. Thanks for the info though. -

Re: Artist recommendations?
Sat, May 8, 2004 - 1:48 PMAnna from No Ka Oi has been doing some work on me and she's great but I know what you mean about that feeling you get -- I felt the same way when I went in to OldeCity (I have seen some great work that those boys have put out but when I went in the shop well let's just say I wasn't feelin @ home - just kidding).
I highly recommend that you check out Mony's work he is working at Body Graphics and his profile is fanastic! He was tattooing over in South Africa - very interesting person to talk with -Mony@inkjection.com or go to Body Graphics Web Site.
Finally if you have any GOOD friends that wouldn't mind going on a little trip - great shop in Allentown called the Quillian Steve bangs out some good artwork.
Good luck on your search!

Fri, May 20, 2005 - 9:03 PMi would recommend justin b. from Wizard's One in Stowe, PA. I would go to : www.myspace.com/life4311 for his most recent work. I'm in the process of getting his work on this site. Absolutely the best artist in the Philly area.

Re: Artist recommendations?
Fri, May 20, 2005 - 9:38 PMIn center city, you can't go wrong with Bill Funk, owner of Body Graphics (although he is out of town a lot). He did the dragon on my left sleeve. Very good, and intelligent, and a nice guy.
Bill hires the best, so if he can't do it, he might recommend one of his other artists.
Jason at Old City is also great.
